Rogaland
3 generations living on a farm with active milk and meat production from in total of around 130 cattle in addition to active forestry. We do not run the farm organically in that sense, but we are actively involved in facilitating nature with the help of over 60 bird boxes on the farm, unique and well-thought-out forestry, as well as the active creation of amphibian ponds with, among other things, a permit from the Norwegian Environmental Protection Agency for the release of newts. We are a hunting-free farm.
For those of you who love nature, and especially birds, forest and animals, this is the farm for you, with a rich diversity of species right outside the door. Here there are rare owls and birds of prey, depending on the season, and many small birds that nest in the summer. There are usually deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels, weasels and martens in the forest, and rarely deer and moose.
If you are skillful with social media, its perfect, because then we can increase our use of social media about the farm. Every day possebilety to take beautiful pics and vids wich we can use online, to promote the farm in- and outland, as something special. Will you help us? :)
The day does not have to be very long, but will largely consist of helping in the barn with cleaning and feeding calves/young animals, doing some field- and forestwork, packing wood (its 2-3 hours every day sometimes) and helping in the sawmll. You will be a part of a team, and together we will have to get the job done.
We try to eat breakfast and dinner together, but otherwise I am out and about a lot, so no two days are the same.
Very connected to nature, but also music, concerts, a little bit sports (football, Mr Haaland is from Bryne, were we normally do our shopping ;) .

I stayed at Njågarden with David for 2.5 weeks and had a really great experience. I truly enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend it to others.
The working hours were fair and well balanced, and there was a lot of flexibility through communication and mutual agreement, which made the stay feel comfortable and relaxed. During my time there I learned a lot about farm life, the forest, daily routines, and the work involved on a Norwegian farm.
The surroundings are beautiful, with many great places nearby for walking, hiking, or running. It is also a good location if you would like to visit Stavanger, Preikestolen, and other scenic spots in the area.
One thing to keep in mind is that there can be quite a lot of alone time, so it helps if you are comfortable being independent and enjoying your own company. For me, that was completely fine and part of the experience.
Overall, I had a very positive stay and I’m grateful for the experience. Thank you, David!
