Hi! My name is Vebjørn and together with my wife Sunniva our son Eivind (9 months) and our dog Bamse, we are looking for people to help us but also bring the world til our little farm this summer. Our main production is sucklercows for meat production, but we also try to sell various vegetables, fruits and berries, all directly to local customers. On our farm we have cows, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. We live in a rural place but at the same time not to far from town centre. We started up this farm in 2020 with the first cows, now we have around 10 sucklercows but 29 all together. We are trying to grow vegetables for sale, but it is a difficult task so this year we are focusing on self sufficiency and just selling what will be the leftovers. Maybe you can help us getting better on this? We have a greenhouse for mainly tomatoes and are growing most of the other veggies outside. We have pigs in the forest, expecting piglets in July which we will feed up for meat production next year. Also have a few hens for egg production for our own need. We are very flexible on the tasks on the farm and we want yo to try some different things while being here. But some tasks are for sure like weeding and watering plants. If you want to, you can get some responsibility for feeding animals like hens and the pigs. There will be different tasks for different periods in the summer so we can have a chat about this knowing your dates. You will be living in a camping wagon 5 meters from the sea, very idyllic and I am a bit jealous about living down there myself. The standards are simple, you have kitchen facilities in the wagon, shower and compost toilet outside of the wagon. There is ordinary water toilet and washing machine in the basement of the house for your use. The placement of your living is a short walk from the farmyard. Food and meals: I will buy basic groceries for your need, so you can prepare your own meals and normally eat on your own or hopefully with a partner. I am really open for wishes since people comes from different places with different food culture, but things like alcohol you will have to buy on your own. We do not want volunteers who smoke or use snuff. We use most of our time home at our farm and are happy with that, much because of lots of work but also because or lifestyle gives us (most of the time) much energy and lots of experiences with the domestic animals, wild animals and nature itself! Since we live so close to the sea we are very attached to that especially now in the summer time, fishing from land and in boat, swimming and also grilling food down with the sea. We have a lot of mountains around us, mountain hiking is maybe one of the biggest hobbies for local people and I will most likely take you with me on the mountain where we have our cattle in the summer and also have a cabin. There is also very varied nature around here which i will be glad to show you. Our biggest city around here is Ålesund, about 1 hour driving away. We also have smaller town center around here 15 minutes and more away.
