Hello! We are Siri and Ask, and together we run an organic certified flower farm located on a seaside hill overlooking the Oslofjord where we grow pick-your-own cut flowers and edible flowers sold to restaurants and speciality stores around Oslo. Our three kids, our danish-swedish farm dogs “Solvei” and “Lily” and 5 egg-laying hens are also helping us out on the farm.
Growing flowers is quite similar to growing vegetables, just even more season-dependent. In spring we sow, prepare the beds, plant out and weed. In summer and autumn we are open for the public so they can come and pick their own bouquet and hang out in our small café. Throughout the whole year we arrange different courses like flower binding, willow weaving, foraging wild edible plants or how to use edible flowers in cooking.
We dont’t live on the farm, but have a modern, cute and comfortable on-grid caravan on site which you can live in. Breakfast and supper you will have to make yourself (covered by us), and lunch we will eat together with employees on the farm.
The farm is located in walkable distance from the sea, so a beach trip is easily attainable in the afternoon or day off. The local town is just as close, with charming cafes, museums and stores. We live in Oslo, 50 min bus ride away, so if you want to get to know the capital city we are happy to share our favorites areas to explore.
IMPORTANT: We only have one caravan, and don’t live on the farm ourselves. We therefore mainly accept couples or good friends who are comfortable with sharing one caravan.
