Hello!
We are Martin and Victoria—two curious humans who love to play, enjoy sports, and explore life while doing as little harm as possible to Mother Nature. Ideally, we want to contribute to her thriving (we do our best and are always eager to learn more and get inspired)!
We moved here in December 2024 and are slowly settling in—learning by doing and exploring the possibilities of this place.
-- What We Do --
We aim to grow a variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruits, supplemented by wild berries and mushrooms from the forest, eggs from our hens, and fish from the nearby fjord. From our harvest, we make all sorts of delicious things—jams, creams, oils, kombucha, pickles, and baked goods (sourdough!).
We’re currently building a large greenhouse from recycled materials and dreaming up more ways to become self-sufficient. Our goal is to live off the farm, but for now, we work three days a week at the local school to manage our finances. We also offer yoga classes at the farm.
-- ABOUT US --
Victoria:
I’m a yoga teacher with a degree in art and communication. I’m big on all things philosophy, spirituality, and psychology. I read lots of weird books about sex, religion, health, social justice, and how to build new world structures that aren’t based on consumerism. I also freelance in festival management and host events around holistic health and wellbeing. I like to jam with music, climb, hike, and dance. My dream for this farm is that it becomes a living, joyful, sustainable place where artistic expression and nature nurture each other in true symbiosis.
Martin:
I’m a special education teacher and yoga teacher. I love all things outdoorsy, and this place is PERFECT for that: surfing, climbing, skiing, running, fire-spinning, mountain hiking… (I’m eager to learn kiting!). I really value communal living and collaborative decision-making—working together to solve puzzles. To relax, I enjoy reading (a bit of a health freak—I love exploring biohacking), playing chess, petting the cat, or drawing. My dream for this farm is that it’s a vibrant, sustainable place where we enjoy sauna (let’s build it!), jam nights, deep talks, sunset fishing, and barefoot forest walks together.
-- Our Values --
We’re committed to using local materials and working in harmony with the environment. Nature, recycling, and respect for tradition are central values in everything we do.
We often have visitors. Friends, and activists in need of shelter, are always welcomed here! We are looking for woofers who enjoy social interactions, but the farm is big so it is always possible to step back for some alone time.
The main themes on this farm are:
1. SUSTAINABLE and REGENERATIVE FARMING
2. Communal living (sharing – honesty – gratitude – independence)
3. CULTIVATING A PRODUCTIVE AND ECO-FRIENDLY LIFESTYLE (conscious consuming)
We prefer to welcome volunteers who share our passion of these topics— or are curious to learn! Before you message us, please take a moment to think about how these themes relate to you, and include a few words about this in your message.
-- What We’re Looking For --
We are hoping to get help with general farm work (production, processing, maintenance, etc.). We always want to offer several opportunities for things you can help with, and projects we can do together, so that you can choose something you feel motivated for. Depending on the season, apple trees need pruning, things need to be dug and maintained, firewood gathered and stacked to dry, animal care and land management, or maintenance of the barn.
This season we are panting the old barn and expanding our vegetable garden. We usually have several projects going at once and choose what to work on day by day depending on the weather, season, and energy.
Because both of us work in mental health and holistic well-being, we want our home to be a space of relaxation and inspiration. Before reaching out, we kindly ask you to reflect on your current mental state:
- Do you feel at home in your body?
- Do you feel loved by life?
If your answer is YES, we’ll be happy to feel at home and loved together with you here on this farm—to play and explore!
-- Practical Info / Your bedroom --
You’ll have your own spacious bedroom at the end of the house, offering great privacy. It has traditional timber walls, a cozy Norwegian bed, and beautiful views.
We share the kitchen, and you’ll use the guest bathroom (which includes our shared shower).
We have a separate bathroom connected to our room.
We’re happy to share our stuff—sports gear, instruments, books, clothes, etc.—just ask!
-- The Local Area --
Our farm is right next to a popular surfing beach on the northwest coast of Norway.
We eat most meals together. Breakfast we sometimes do together (especially on Sundays) other times we invite you to grab what you want, when you want. Dinner we always eat together. We really enjoy cooking healthy foods. We are pescatarian.
This is a windy place where the weather changes fast. Four seasons in one day! It’s magical. There are many natural wonders nearby, and we’ll be happy to show you around.
* Grocery store: 15-minute walk
* Elnesvågen: 20-minute drive to a shopping center with everything you need
* Stemshesten & Sjurvarden: Great afternoon hikes with beautiful views
* The Atlantic Road: 10-minute drive north. Continue another 40 minutes and you’ll reach Kristiansund—a charming fishing town with colorful wooden houses.
* Trollkyrkja: 16-minute drive to the parking area. The hike takes you to stunning limestone caves with underground streams and waterfalls
* Bud: A 20-minute drive south—this well-known fishing village offers fantastic local food experiences
