We are a couple who runs a small farm in the western part of Norway (Hardanger Fjorden). The farm is run primarily by me Sindre and I have been running the farm for about 9 years. I grow organic plums and apples, as well as raise sheep. The sheep part is currently not entirely organic, but I'm in the process of making my entire production organic. We are also in the process of making a vegetable patch, which is in the test phase, but we're hoping to expand. There are also four cats living on the farm. Due to labor laws in Norway we can only host EU-citizens, unless you've got a work-visa. A day on the farm can be varied, and no two days are the same. The work will of course depend on the season. But generally, a day will consist of small hikes to look after the sheep, taking care of the fruit trees, either through pruning, thinning or harvesting. As well as general maintenance of machines, or buildings. During winter and spring, the sheep need daily feeding and we work with precultivating plants, and cutting trees for firewood for sale. So there is always activity on the farm year round, but the spring and fall are the most active times. We have a seperate cellar apartment that functions as a complete living space with bathroom, bedroom, and a open livingroom/kitchen. Which can house 2-3 people. We are happy to share meals together but are also very open to provide enough money for our guests to buy their own groceries that they need for themselves. We are a primarily vegetarian home, but sometimes make meals out of meat, fish or game that are from or own production. We are nature lovers, and enjoy hikes in the local mountains, which there are many of, but they are all quite steep. We love harvesting, mushrooms and other wild growths for food. And spending time in the garden. We live just by the fjord, and love to take baths, year round, Me (Sindre) also run a local Karate club, and we have practice two times a week, and I'm more than happy to bring people along. We have several musical instruments in the house, and love to jam and create music. We play games a lot, card games, board games (and I love video games too). Our farm is only a 15 minute drive to Odda, where you'll find a bouldring hall, gyms, resturanst and pubs, as well as museums. There are also busses going to Bergen and Oslo if you're ever in the mood for trip to the city.

I had an amazing time at Sindre and Frida's farm! They are such lovely people who will do everything they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The area is simply breathtaking and there are some good options to explore. Frida and Sindre both helped to find some things to do during the days off of work, which was really nice :) I loved working on the farm, I had a great time helping out with the sheep and lambing and also did some gardening/working in the field with the fruit trees. There are many different things you can help out with, and Sindre is really open to finding a different job if something doesn't suit well. The intensity and amount of work can differ per day, but is overall super reasonable and you're still left with a lot of free time to relax and/or explore. The apartment is perfect, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We usually had lunch together, which was very nice. I loved hanging out and spending time together and the food was really good :) The meals we shared were mostly vegetarian/vegan, being vegan was no issue at all, which was really great. Thanks for the amazing stay! Hope to find the opportunity again to visit some day :)

Oh God where do I begin…. The location is obviously just breathtaking and you don’t need me to tell you that you just have to be there but what made this experience worth it were the people there. Sindre and Frida are one of the most welcoming and kindest people I’ve ever met, they will absolutely make sure you’re comfortable and happy with the work, And to top it all off they just bring good vibes. So if you’re ready to put in a good few hours of work with them, and are a decent human being trust me you gon have funnn ;).
