///// Who are we /////
I'm a dad with a 1,5 year old son, and a cute flock of chickens, spending most of our time in a cabin in the forest. We do our best to foster a regenerative lifestyle in harmony with nature, reusing commodities and pragmatically reducing waste as much as we can. Have had this property for about 2 years now, and so naturally quite a lot of cool things are established but there's plenty of new projects to develop. With a small child, it has also taken us a bit longer to develop in the multitude of aspects of life simultaneously. Tried starting a company too (mostly external landscaping projects), but haven't managed to scale it up or live from it as of now. We produce a variety of fresh food, and we are doing our best to increase the production volume gradually 🌲
///// summary of the situation here & what is needed the most ///
You'll get a free place to sleep in a peaceful location, eat as much as you want of what we have in stock, and you can borrow bikes and cars for free so you can explore where you want - but you have to refuel your own fuel consumption etc. We have two guest rooms. So we can host two people with know prior acquaintance, or if two groups of two wish to visit at the same time the maximum capacity (to ensure it is comfortable for everyone) is 4 guests. Not enough space for more people than that unless you're experienced and happy with tenting or have a campervan 🏠
The tasks available can range from pretty complex, to easy peasy things stuff. This can include sowing, tree planting, setting up new herb / vegetable zones, harvesting, bringing/making compost or fixing structures directly related to food production. We have plenty of tools, and can probably fetch some more if you feel that something important is missing. No specific knowledge prerequisites, but we will prefer responsible people who share our values. Let us know what you're good at, and we can discuss what could potentially be of interest and in alignment with existing or developing skill sets. If I can find something that suits your interests, in any topic you wish to learn more about, then that's a win-win 😊
Be prepared that we'll provide enough food items for you to thrive and have as many meals per day as you want, but we will probably not have time to cook for you or offer complicated meals, but maybe we can cooperate 😀 We will provide you with all the basic stuff, the things you should get to see and experience in Norway, but not the most exclusive or expensive. We can also show you where+how to go dumpster diving if you want to experience the thrill. It's much more fun than buying food hehehe 😎
Feel free to do and explore whatever you like. This cabin is quite far away from where most people live, so although there are public commute stations nearby (5 min), not many buses will pass. You'll have to bike for an hour or drive 15-25 minutes to get to the nearest city centers. There won't be much of a city atmosphere here, and probably this is not the best place for city lovers. This place will be idea if you enjoy hiking, becase there are tons of places to hike and even swim in lakes nearby 🍀
Regarding local sights and famous places to check out. Based on your preferences I can make individual recommendations. But for a general one, have you heard of Preikestolen aka the Pulpit rock? Definitely worth checking out. And plenty of other nice places around to check out 🏞️🏛️

Well, the little trip is over and it's back to everyday life. This week was truly enriching, and I think we were lucky to have found this farm. Shan is a very kind and open person, and as for the work, nothing too bad. We dug up trees, planted trees, made soil, and did some tidying up inside when it rained. By the end of the week, we had a new friend (Shan), went out to Stavanger, and then had a little get-together, just to give you an idea. My friend Hugo and I highly recommend it.
