Hello, Ps. We are looking for longer stays in autumn through winter. On the farm, it's me Nicolai (32 years), my partner Panida (30 years), our daughter Åsa (1 year), and our joyful dog Slim Shady. I am a teacher in economics at the local high school, while my partner has a master's degree in food science. Me and my partner are engaged outdoor enthusiasts, who love to be in and understand nature. Our hobby is surfing and climbing in the local area. We live surrounded by the sea and mountains. We live 4 minutes by bike from a beautiful surfing beach, and we have mountains with beautiful trails and good buldering rocks to climb, just outside our doorstep. We live in what we call paradise :) We bought our farm 2 year ago. The condition of the farm was pretty bad, so the last year have been mostly renovation of the barn, getting up fences, making/planning beds and paths, and getting to known the landscape. We have planted a bunch of trees and bushes for wind protection and more fertile soil. We also got chickens and "old tradional viking sheep", that graze around the farm. To sum it up, we have done all to get the infrastructure of a regenerative/ permaculture farm up and going. We have different dreams on the farm: First is to make a forest garden, with a diversity of flowers, trees, bushes etc, that could provide health for nature and healthy food for ourselves and others. Secondly, we want to make a permaculture garden, with vegetable production, and chicken and sheep that provide manure, egg and meat. Thirdly we have today 14 acres of grass production that are used for winter food for the sheep. We want to transform this production into a regenerative practice, with high biodiversity of flowers and plants, that would be better for soil, wildlife and the sheeps :) Then lastly, we want to create a place for learning and education. Therefore, I have made a carpentry workshop, and a little library with a diversity of books, and some instruments in the barn. I usually wake up, opening for the chickens so they can graze around the farm (at night we have some foxes lurking around). After this, there are projects, either building something (everything from a vegetable bed, to a port, to a greenhouse, to a bench), or doing some planting, grazing, fencing, taking care of the sheep or chickens. Our core focus is to make our farm as fertile and beautiful as nature itself, therefore we plan to use the next year to plant trees, bushes and other plants, make paths, and rivers/streams (do some landscape architecture) and start small with a vegetable garden. Also, we need to cut the grass and make hay with old traditional techniques. The WWOOFers will be taught what I know about carpentry and handwork, landscape architecture, take care of the animals, and more than less learn how to run a sustainable farm. But be aware that we are fresh in the game, so we are not professors. We are still learning ourselves, but then again maybe that creates a better learning arena for others who are keen on learning about permaculture, regenerative practices, food forests or just creating stuff. We want to house the WWOOFers in the camper on our property in summer time, while after summer we want to house the wwoofers in the cabin. We have a restroom (toilet, shower and sink) in the barn (5 meters from the camper). We preferably want solo travellers (or couples) when the camper is not too big and the workload is not too much. The cabin on the property, we usually use to rent out in the summer months. From september we are thinking in moving our Wwoofers into the cabin. The cabin is equipped with shower, toilet, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (4 beds) and a living room. It is a good standard cabin:D Eggs are free, hopefully we will have some vegetable in the garden. We love making vegetarian asian food, so we will be providing some memorable dinners as well. We could make a plan for this directly with a WWOOFers Summertime is mostly running in the mountains, surfing or hanging out on the beach and climbing around on the rocks. Nicolai loves playing music also
