Hi! Welcome to our beautiful Øverland farm situated in Bærum, only 13 km from the city center of Oslo. We are the first CSA-farm (Community Supported Agriculture) in Norway founded in 2006. We have a charming “storehouse” (Stabbur) with all modern facilities (water, electricity, shower, wifi, cooking, clothes washing facilities etc) located on the farm itself for accommodation offering short or long term stays. On a day to day basis wwoofers work will mainly consist of sowing, planting, digging, watering, weeding, harvesting and some sorting and packing of vegetables. You will be working alongside our team of 3-4 gardeners and sometimes together with the shareholders when they come by to contribute on the farm. Here at Øverland farm we are pioneering a solid and flourishing community connecting farmers, members and consumers, promoting direct knowledge from our permanently employed farmers and gardeners, from production to consumption of organic produce. We have more than 300 shareholders and still growing, a versatile, knowledgeable and generous community all enjoying in the delights and importance of organically and locally produced food. Many of our shareholders have been with us since the beginning of the farm and are passionate experts on different topics. They willingly and generously share their knowledge about wild edible plants and flowers, fermenting of vegetables, mushrooms and composting, just to mention a few topics. Our land is 5 hectars with production of vegetables, a large berry & fruit orchard, herb garden, hen house and 4 large green houses. Diversity is high with around 100 different species of vegetables, fruits and berries, including walnuts and grapes. We also keep around 30 chickens and 8 bee heaves. Øverland farm has easy access to both city and nature. Beautifully located high on a peaceful hill surrounded by open fields and forests with a panoramic view of the lush mountains and glittering blue fjords, only 20 min drive to Oslo – 40 min by bicycle. Nearest village is Bekkestua 10 min walk with all facilities. We are looking forward to meet you! Welcome 😊

I spent two wonderful months at Øverland Farm, and I learned a lot during my stay about organic farming and bread making as well ❤️😂. Marianne, Andy, Wojtek and Håkon are amazing funny and respectful people, and you will learn a lot from them. For me, it’s an experience worth coming back to again❤️.

Fantastic experience on a farm filled with good vibes and diversity. The staff are very kind and welcoming, and the tasks are varied. The shared accommodation with other WWOOFers is very pleasant, and the food is provided in both quantity and quality. I would recommend it 100%! Thank's for good time !

I spent three amazing months at Øverland farm, and it was such a rewarding experience. From day one, I felt warmly welcomed and quickly became part of the community. The team was amazing, always ready to teach, answer questions, and we share such a great memories. I also enjoyed meeting other WWOOFers. We shared great moments together, laughed a lot, and created memories I’ll cherish. I’m leaving with new skills, beautiful memories, and a deep appreciation for this inspiring place. Thank you, Øverland, for making these three months so special. I hope to be back one day! 💛

One of the best wwoof experiences i’ve had yet! If I had the chance to stay full time I would. Staying here for two weeks was not long enough… but in my time I met many people from full time workers to shareholders/volunteers (some that come most days and some on occasion). Almost everyone of them has taught me a different skill that will be useful to me, especially whenever I have my own property & homestead, and for that I am grateful. The work is never too challenging & I found it very rewarding. In my two weeks we: planted pumpkin seeds, leaks, brassicas, tomatoes, basil, a lot onions & a TON of potatoes (on the 16th of May :) We also put down large weed mats, nets & set up sprinkler systems. The location is amazing. A peaceful farm a 5 min walk to a bus station that takes 30 min to get to Olso & maybe another 30 min if you wish to travel further. Many waking trails & some good viewpoints within 30-90min walk of the farm & nice lakes to swim in (within bus or bike ride away). Marianne, Andy & Wojtek were amazing hosts & I loved working with all of them. Each so funny, kind & enthusiastic. They all gave me great recommendations of the area, explanations of farming & norwegian (polish)culture. Love the opportunity to cook for myself & to get creative with ingredients found on the farm and locally. It was fun to cook with other wwoofers & experience cuisine from there countries and share mine. I will be back one day to check up on those trees & maybe eat some potet :)
