Organic Apple, plums and cherrys for juice and cider
Vestland
I have been running the fruit farm from 2004 and did go full time farmer in 2019. Try to add some new selfsuficient things every year. Try to grow more food and have rabbits for meat. The cats are pets and pestcontrollers.
Hardanger is the number one fruit area in Norway, and I grow some sweet cherrys, organic plums and apples. Have started to prosess some of the fruit into more high walue products, to be able to pay the bills.

We spent a great 4 weeks at Jans apple farm. Doing various things from picking plums/apples, cutting down plum trees, pressing actual apple juice!!! bottling it, labelling the bottles. It gave us an interesting insight into the business.
We got to live in a seperate wwoofer house which was very nice. And had a great time with the other wwoofers at the time! ☆
Jan was a great host, respecting the working hours and always preparing breakfast and dinner for us. Lunch we got to make our own.
It is also a great location, right by the fjord to have a little dip.
Thanks for the great time Jan!

My experience at Jan Ove's organic cider farm was great, I always felt comfortable, working hours were respected and I had a private big bedroom with an amazing view. What I did was thin out plums and apples in some fields along the fjord, the work was easy and not too hard. I really liked the family atmosphere during meals and the friendship with the other volunteers, a plus were the cats and kittens around us, simply adorable! The area is really beautiful and peaceful with a lot of hikes to do and Jan Ove is always available to give information and advice about it. He is a great host with lots of knowledge, I would recommend anyone to do this experience, thank you so much!
