(Norwegian below) We bought Haugneset Farm in the fall of 2020. It had been a vacation spot since the 70's and close to falling down before that. We started a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) in the summer of 2021, and a small apiary the following year. Privately we are also developing a food garden with a lot of perennials as well as a food forest. We are located at the innermost point of the Fanne fjord, close to the township of Molde. At our farm we are two humans: me, Bård Watn, and my husband Mads Pålsrud. We have a cat, Smule, a flock of about ten chicken, twelve bee hives and three sheep (with baby lambs in the spring if all goes to plan.) Mads runs his own company in rural and urban development, mainly from the users perspective and participation. See his company's website here: www.growlab.no/en/ Mads also enjoys playing the piano, fishing, cooking, sowing and foraging for mushrooms. I (Bård) am is a musician (working on my own music and composing for theatre), a farmer, a beekeeper. I also enjoy knitting and reading. And both of us love swimming and eating. And talking and laughing. We would welcome WWOFers to all of the activities on the farm, as we ourselves see the farm as a whole organism, where all the tasks have a part in a whole. Interestingly we are in the very beginning of developing and caring for our land, so included in the list of activities are caring for the forest, handling the various animals, developing the food forest, the apiary, the private garden, maintaining the buildings (often in the old traditional ways). There is a lot to learn at our farm as we have discovered these past two years. We would love to share our knowledge of growing food for other families, planning and communicating with our CSA-members, how we think about the farm and the land and how we think it is best to manage it all in a holistic and gentle way to encourage biodiversity and joy. Also there will be cooking and enjoying life. That is a big part of it. Food wise we are noted as omnivores, and vegetarians /vegans should note that the food will consist partly of animal products, mostly, but not only, from the farm. We will not provide vegetarian/vegan alternatives.

We really enjoyed our stay at Haugneset farm. We’ve got the chance to live there for one month and were so warmly welcomed that it felt like home from the first day. It was a month full of learning, working outside, enjoying good food and the beautiful landscape. We’re very thankful for the experience and can recommend it to anyone!

We recommend Bård and Mads’s farm a thousand times over! They are passionate and committed to passing on their knowledge and values in a caring way. They are also very open, curious and friendly outside of work. They make sure their volunteers feel good, and we felt right at home. We spent an amazing month on this farm, enjoying the typical, relaxing atmosphere in the heart of nature! Thank you both for your communicative energy :) Flavie and Lucie

What a special experience it was at Haugneset Gard - in the most positive way! The place and its surroundings are is just as gorgeous as the two hosts, Bard and Mads. Not only did I learn a lot about gardening, but I also enjoyed their company, their support and their trust. If I may, I would really come back to see how this jewel of a farm has further developed. And to other wwoofers I can warmly recommend a stay there! Thank you so much for everything, Bard and Mads!!

I had a wonderful stay at beautiful haugneset in spring. There were a wide variety of tasks to be done, so I learned a lot of different skills. Bård and Mads are very knowledgeable and kind, great chefs and fun to be around. Haugneset is a place full of peaceful life (the roosters are not with us anymore), green energy and is a good example on how to live more in harmony with nature. I really enjoyed my stay and will come back to visit!

We had an amazing 3 weeks with Bård and Mads. Their farm is beautiful, and the view is just breathtaking every single day. We learned so much working alongside them. They’re super welcoming and friendly (not to mention hilarious) and they made us feel like part of the family. Don’t miss the chance to go woofing with them, you won’t regret it :) Thanks again for everything, we already miss you !
