Idyllic, organic, regenerative, dairy goat, pig, bee and vegetables farm in South of Norway
Agder
Are you active, sporty, an outdoor person and not afraid to get your hands dirty? Than read on!
Note: We prefer couples to apply, and the duration of your stay would be ideally one month.
This is a dairy goat farm in the south of Norway with goats, pigs, bees and veggies. We, Caren (35), David (38), Lente (6) and Thore (3) started this dream in 2017. We are following the loop farming method, this means that:
During the summer, we bring the goats to the pasture every day. They are milked twice a day. From the milk we make cheese. The leftovers of the milk go to our ten outdoor piggies. The young (male) goats are raised up on the farm, the meat is sold locally. The manure goes back on the land, which produces grass as feed for the goats, but also vegetables for David his garden. He has bees which helps us with the pollunation, they give honey in addition.
So no left overs is the key word, trying to use everything :)
We mainly need help with daily animal care (feeding pigs, walking the goats to the pasture etc), in the cheese factory and in the garden. Besides there are always building projects we need some help with.
We ask you to help us out for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. Two days a week you are free to explore the region.
After the help, there is time to fish, hike, cycle, swim and climb in the beautiful surrounding.
When Caren has time she loves to play some games in the evening :)

I had an amazing time in Uppistog gard ! Are you looking for a fun experience, making friends and seeing a wonderful view every morning until night? Then you got to go in Valle ! I was simply amazed by how beautiful everything was. Caren and David are very nice and friendly, and the kids are just adorable. The work is very nice to do since you always have someone to talk to, and I've learned so much things in just 1 month ! I am very thankfull for this time in Valle. I always wanted to live my life in an appartment, but now I really want to have an house where I can grow vegetables and have 3-4 goats. Once again, thank you very much for all this, and if you are a wwoofer looking for a nice place to go, don't look further! This is the best place you could get :)

I spend my month of June at Caren and David’s farm. And I only have positive things to say!
First of all, Caren and David are such a sweet couple. Really easy to be around, talk to, funny and caring about your well being! You’ll definitely feel at home!
The surrounding is so beautiful and peaceful. You can borrow their bike and go on bike ride to discover the place. I can recommend you the camping next to the farm and you can also do some climbing in Valle. But of course, there’s much more hikes and places to go and see and Caren and David will have good recommendations for you!
You’ll learn a lot about the cheese making with Caren and about gardening with David which was really interesting. The work schedule was always clear and I think they are a well organized family. So it will be easy for you to plan your activities around the work schedule.
But of course, working with them is also a really nice time!
Caren is a great cook and the meal are always almost only with their own food from the farm.
The two kids are so lovely and cute, you can only love them!
Thank you again Caren and David to have welcoming me in your farm!
