Our farm is a rather small, family-run farm. We are Katinka, Grzegorz and Solei (born in 2015), a polish-norwegian couple, who used to be wwoofers ourselves. We bought the farm in 2014 and started the process of shifting the production from conventional sheep and grass to growing a wide selection of organic vegetables, herbs and flowers.  We keep some chickens and ducks for fun and eggs, but our main focus has been small-scale vegetable farming. In 2017 we started the first CSA (community supported agriculture) in our region, and in 2019 we were over 80 families + local restaurants connected to the farm. Our passion is to explore the possibilities of growing a variety of crops in our challanging climate, and in 2022 we started our first attempt at a small cut-flower production. 2024 is the first year we we will not be growing vegetables for sale, only for our own kitchen garden. Our entire focus is going to be on producing and selling cut-flowers, which is a really unique product in our region. Also we were shocked to learn about the terrible working conditions and environmental impact of conventional cut-flower farming across the globe, and want to offer our community a pesticide free alternative to imported flowers. On a day to day basis the work on the farm is really diverse and mainly evolves around planting, digging, weeding, harvesting, sorting and packing of vegetables, herbs and flowers. We usually work side by side with the wwoofers, trying to teach as much as we can as we go along, although we also expect all members of our team to be able to work independently if needed. The wwoofers are responsible for taking care of our chickens and ducks in summer. Other, more seasonal tasks include making hay and firewood, compost, do fence-work, clear new pastures, fix watering systems, and more. We are also doing some construction work as we keep improving on the infrastructure around the farm. The list of projects, as always on a farm, is endless. In late summer and autumn we sometimes go on hikes and pick mushrooms and wild berries that grow everywhere in this particularly fertile part of Norway. We have two cats and a young, active and very friendly Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, who would all love your attention. We expect our wwoofers to take part in practical work in the household - as part of the family. We try to have two wwoofers at the time with us during the summer season - so no big team of wwoofers for those that are looking for a "youth camp". It is easy to find a quiet spot or go for a walk/hike/kayak/bikeride in beautiful nature. Our farm is located close to the village center with a store, library, doctors office, cafes and easy access to public transportation to Bergen and other parts of the fjord. Wwoofers will have their own room in the main house. They share common areas and meals with us. We want the farm to be a welcoming space for people to gather and enjoy. We believe that not only plants can grow on a farm, but people can too! IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. We strongly prefer our wwoofers to commit to a one month stay or longer, as in our experience it takes two-three weeks to get to to know each other, get used to the place and work, and have the best experience. The longer your stay, the greater chance for us to prioritize you! 2. We usually don't accept wwoofers traveling in pairs (friends/ couples). This mainly because there is a greater risk of both our wwoofers cancelling last minute/ not showing up. As we often only have two wwoofers it leaves us in a very difficult situation as we are sometimes relying on some extra hands during the busiest part of the season. Also we find that people traveling "solo" contribute much more socially to our mini-community.  PS: bring warm and waterproof clothes - Norway can be cold and wet even in summer! Also: we don't accept smokers or any use of illegal drugs (in Norway that includes marihuana). Organic methods: The entire farm is run according to the principles of organic farming. Our production is certified organic since 2018 with Debio - the norwegian organic certification organisation.  Certifications: Debio certified organic since 2018 Current projects: Growing our flower production Internet access available

Time spent at Undeland Gard is time well spent! Katinka, Grzegorz and Solei are truly open and welcoming people. They showed me everything with great patience and the (very fair!) working hours were filled with interesting facts about their way of farming, humor and incredible views. During your free time you have plenty of opportunities to explore the wonderful nature around you and also get a taste of Katinka and Grzegorz amazing cooking skills (I still think the Pizza shop is a great idea;) You can really feel the passion and love they have for their farm, and it was a pleasure to learn and work with them. If I had the opportunity, I would pack my bags immediately and visit them again - and I can only motivate you to do the same! Big hug from Switzerland and tusen takk for alt Natalie

I am so pleased I got the opportunity to have my first woofing experience at Undeland Gard! I was there one month between August and September and honestly it could not have been better. Both, Grzegorz and Katinka a very kind, open-minded and inspiring people and together with their wonderful daughter Solei, this lovely family makes you feel like being part of their team. Even though I just spend one month at their beautiful farm, I really got a lot of opportunities to learn more about flower farming and what it means to take care of an own farm and so on. Together with the two other gorgeous Wwoofers (I already miss you Elisa and Linda!!) we had the opportunity to work on varied tasks and grow as a team. The working hours are more then fair and Grzegorz ans Katinka really make sure that you will not work more than the 6 hours a day. All in all I think Undeland Gard is one of the l beautifulest places ever, nestled between the mountains and the fjord, the view you have during the work nearly makes you forget that you are working at all. I think it was the best first woofing experience that I could have had and I highly recommend it to everyone that seriously wants to learn more about flower farming and so on. I am really looking forward to come back and cannot really put it in words how much I appreciate all the memories I have made here! I wish you the best and see you next year;))

I had the opportunity to spend the whole September at Undeland Gard, and I’m so grateful for this experience! Katinka & Grzegorz are such warm-hearted people, and they cook the most delicious food! The farm is situated in a beautiful environment, with stunning views over the fjord and mountains while working—it couldn’t be more perfect. The tasks were really varied, so I learned a lot: Every morning, we took care of the chickens. Two days a week were dedicated to harvesting flowers, and on the other days we picked apples, harvested potatoes, pumpkins and other vegetables, weeded, mowed the lawn and did other farm tasks. It was so much fun working with Grzegorz, you’re never working alone he’s always helping out and I’m also grateful that there was such a lovely other Wwoofer with me. The working hours were more than fair, giving us plenty of time to explore the surroundings, take a trip to Eidfjord, go hiking and mushroom picking with Katinka or play a game with everyone. Thank you so much for the wonderful time and the beautiful memories! I wish the family all the best :-)

I had the greatest first WWOOFing experience on this farm in early autumn 2022. Both Katinka and Grzegorz are so inspiring and you can really sense how passionate they are about their small farm. They really make an effort for you to feel comfortable and learn something which I definitely did! I found a lot of satisfaction in harvesting vegetables with a view over the beautiful fjord. Also you are provided with delicious food straight from the fields outside. Sometimes, things had to be done in quite a haste with which I struggled a bit. It made me realise how much hard work has to be put into this business at all times and I have a lot of respect for that. I’ve made so many wonderful memories and I am so grateful for this opportunity :)

Thank you Katinka, Gregorz, and Solei for opening you home to me! I had an amazing time in Ulvik working with these lovely people. The work was typical farm work, but because there are so many different crops and varieties of each crop, the work was always changing. I did and learned new things every day! The food is also delicious, and Katinka and Gregorz are amazing to accomodate any type of diet you require. The village is a short walk away, and from there you can bus around to just about anywhere nearby where you would like to visit. I would recommend Undeland Gard to anyone!

Undeland Gard is a wonderful, happy place located in the most beautiful landscape. Katinka and Grzegorz are incredibly warm-hearted, smart, lovely people and their daughter Solei is such a sweet, very bright little girl. The work is varied and although it can sometimes be a little bit exhausting, it's also very fun, interesting and satisfying and Katinka and Grzegorz are super fair about working hours! I feel like I've learned a lot during my five weeks at Undeland Gard, not only about the cute birds (it's the wwoofers' responsibility to take care of them) and plants, but also about life! I was and still am so impressed with their determination and all the hard work and effort they put in their farm and how after a long day of work, they're still ready to joke, chat and cook DELICIOUS food. It was so amazing and truly life-changing to see people knowing what they want to do and actually persuing their goals/dreams no matter how many challenges that might pose. They are very knowledgable about planting and farming and I enjoyed the small lessons on sustainable planting/living and market gardening a lot! I'm very grateful that I got to live with this lovely family. A wonderful place like this also naturally attracts great visitors and I'm so happy to have met like-minded wwoofers that have become such good friends (hi Emma, hi Lou)! I wish you guys all the best for the future and will treasure my memories at Undeland Gard forever! I already miss singing ESC songs with you. Love you!!
