Prestegårdshagene is both a CSA (community supported Agriculture) and a flowerfarm. We produce more than 30 different vegetables to the members of the coopretaive. We are located just outside the center of Porsgrunn. We are a cooperation with a board, a CEO (40%) and a gardener (100% in the season). We are around 140 members (both adults and children). We also work with different projects with kindergardens and schools, who use the farm as a "school garden" and a place to integrate theory and practise. We join different local festivals as Mersmak - a food festival in Skien by the end off August as well as national events as the national eco-week and GreenLight District - an artfestival with focus on transformation from industry to a more sustainable community. We had originally planned to stay one month at Prestegårdshagene and then move on to the next farm. Unfortunately, the next farm turned out to be disastrous. One call to Fia, and she rescued us — letting us come back for another month, even though they normally don’t take WWOOFers in October. She is truly an angel. Fia is everything all the former WWOOFers say about her, and so much more. From the very start, we felt completely at home — greeted with a warm welcome from Fia, followed by many friendly CSA members. It was an educational and enriching two months, even for us 2 oldies over 60 ! We enjoyed every minute, whether in sunshine or rain: building several fences, planting hundreds of willow cuttings, making a willow hut, joining basket-weaving and fermentation workshops, building bird nesting boxes, cutting beautiful flowers, harvesting pumpkins and potatoes, and even having fun while weeding. Fia is full of laughter, energy, and inspiring ideas for the farm. We greatly enjoyed helping her put some of her plans into action. We had an unforgettable time here, and have already arranged to return in April/May 2026.

My time on the farm was absolutely amazing! The farm is located just a bit outside of Porsgrunn but very well connected with public transport. Most of my work days I spent weeding in the vegetable gardens and flower picking. During work days there are lots of people from the community coming to work and during lunchtime we all sat together to connect over lots of coffee :)) In the evenings or the weekend it was a bit more quiet but there are lots of places to explore and the opportunity to go for a swim is just a few minutes walk away. There were also bikes at the farm we could use to explore the area! Thanks for the amazing three weeks I got to spent at the farm! I will hopefully be back soon!

What a privilege is was to be so long ( six weeks) at Prestegårdshagene this year! In springtime I was here, two weeks, together with my girlfriend Sabine. We could witness the first work this year, after wintertime: bringing little seeds in small plastic pots, watering these little pots with the young promising seeds, planting out small plants in the open soil etc. All was young, small and waiting for the summer. What a difference it was in the beginning of July,: vegetables and flowers everywhere! Nature had now exploded with life, everywhere on the farm! And the work was different off course. Now we had to weed a lot, because that is what you have to do if you don't use pesticides. But also we had to pick flowers, many flowers. We did this two times a week; the owner Anna Sofie made bouquets from the flowers, which were being sold at the entrance of the farm, at the road. These summer weeks were full of life: people who came to work voluntary, two times a week, youngsters in their holidays, many people who came to work or pick vegetables or flowers for their own household and after the holidays schoolchildren. This is a very social place and Anna Sofie is the centre of all. She welcomes everybody, makes them feel at home, writes newsletters, tells us, WWOOF-ers, what and how to do and hundreds other sorts of work. The work is not too hard or difficult and from 09-15 o'clock. It is a very good place to be as a WWOOF-er! Geert van der Veen, The Netherlands

I had a great time during my three-week stay! The variety of activities and interesting people I worked with made it really enjoyable! I found the community to be very welcoming and had nice exchanges There are also some pleasant places to walk and bathe near the farm! Overall, I would certainly recommend WWOOFing here

I enjoyed staying with Anna Sofie, Thea and Anne for six weeks on a wide variety of tasks! The work was not too hard, with relaxed working hours and it was very much satisfying. I learned so much about farming, carpentry, and it was a great opportunity to reconnect with nature! The farm has all the sufficient facilities to host wwoofers! Separate rooms, bathroom, laundry room and a super equipped kitchen (had some great cookings there)! What I especially liked is that we could harvest available vegetables and herbs to incorporate them into our meals! The farm itself is a very chill place, where one can enjoy the company of birds, bees, trees and flowers! At the same time often it can just fill with community-life from one moment to the other as the farm hosts many social events, like lectures, markets, parties, etc. So it is a very nice place to connect with people as well! There is a very lively community around the farm, a great example of a community-supported agriculture in my opinion. Overall I had a wonderful time at Prestegårdshagene! I recommend it to anyone interested in permaculture, agriculture, community engagement or if they just want to know this beautiful country better and deeper!

Our stay in Anna‘s beautiful garden was very enjoyable. It s been so interesting learning from Anna patiently when and how to harvest calendula and other flowers. Her kind gardener Theja asked us to do the weeding in the onion and carrot beds. There is a lot of room in Anna’s comfortable house with all the necessary equipment where we felt immediately at home. As Anna’s place is run as a „Community Supplied Agricultur“ we had the fantastic chance to meet members and learn more about the garden, and about Norway. Everybody was so helpful. Tusen Takk. 🎈 We wish Anna, Theja and the members all the very best for the future seasons, lots of flowers, vegetable and busy bees. Christiane & Barbara from Berlin. 🍀

We had the pleasure of having Christiane and Barbara staying at the our farm for a week in August of 2023. In spite of the short stay Christiane and Barbara were very helpful at the farm. Wwoofer´s who prefer weeding carrots are a dream for any host. And that even with a smile on their faces. Thank you so much for positive energy and contribution to the season!
