Welcome to Olavsbråten – an organic farm built on community, respect, and meaningful work.
We do believe in Christ, and started our farm- church this year 2026 :)
At Olavsbråten we live close to nature and run our farm organically, with respect for the animals, the land, and each other. We keep dairy sheep and goats, and an important part of life here is caring for the animals and processing the milk. We also have chickens and 4 cows.
As a volunteer, you may take part in milking, milk-processing and packaging dairy products.
We are also in the process of renovating and restoring old farm buildings. A lot of the work therefore involves practical tasks such as carpentry, painting, and general maintenance. Most of what we do is about caring for this place so that it remains good for both people and animals.
The work and daily rhythm naturally follow the seasons, which means that tasks and priorities will vary throughout the year.
Life here is not just about the work. We value community, respect, and creating a good atmosphere together. We share meals and daily life, and we are looking for volunteers who want to contribute with openness and a willingness to be part of an inclusive community based on christian values.
What you can take part in:
🐑 Helping with the animals: milking, care, and milk packaging, chickens and cows.
🧀 Assisting with cheese-making and milk processing
🛠️ Supporting renovation and maintenance of farm buildings
🌱 General (farm)work, firewood, fencing, daily routines and kitchen tasks etc
Where we are:
The farm is beautifully located near the Norefjell mountains, with great opportunities for hiking and enjoying nature. We are about 1.5 hours from Oslo and Gardermoen Airport.
Before you apply:
Please think carefully about whether you want to join us — to share both the work and daily life of the community, where mutual respect and care for nature are core values. Tell us why you would like to come, what tasks interest you, and what you hope to contribute and learn. The longer you stay, the more responsibility and insight you will gain.
Practical:
This year we changed accomodation.
(Earlier we had a guest house, which we dont have anymore )
We have now space for two woofers.
There is a bed room with a bunk bed next to a bathroom :)
(And a window to the cows:)
Accommodation is simple and close to nature, and this is part of the experience. Please come prepared with suitable clothing for outdoor living.
We cook on fire stoves💪👍
Eating:
We eat one warm meal alltogether in the middle of the day. And for evening and morning and else, you serve yourselves with crackers / musli / yoghurt and simple cooking on the stove if you are comfortable with that :)
We warmly welcome you to join us!
