Family farm
Vestland
We are a family of four. Linda has an agricultural background, from a mountain dairy farm in Norway, ceramist from profession. François is french and a ceramist 2nd generation. We bought this farm 15 years ago, and are in the process of upgrading the numerous buildings on the farm, and establishing a large and varied organic orchard and vegetable garden and greenhouse based on permaculture. Our sheep graze in the mountains in summer and stay at the farm in winter. We try to be as self sufficient as posssible. We have also built a large woodfired kiln and a ceramic workshop that now is turning. Woofers are lodged independently in a comfortable cabin with the space for 2 persons. Couples or single travellers are all welcome. We all share the lunch meal, and you prepare breakfast and supper amongst woofers. We will supply you with local fish and meat and good homemade food. If you are vegetarian it is of course not a problem.
Certifications: Debio, 60 % of our land , including all orchards and vegetable gardens

This an incredible place. The whole family was extremely kind, and welcoming. Thank you for all your kindness. The work on the farm varies a lot from day to day, and you always have the fantastic view to look over at, which I never got tired of. I dont think anyone would regret going here. They make sure that you are comfortable, have everything you need, and give advice for activities, I went on some amazing hikes, kayaked in the fjord, went fishing and meet some amazing people both on the farm and in the little village. Even though I didnt stay for that long, I had experiences for a lifetime. Thank you for everything. I give them my warmest recommendation as a wwoofing experience. I didn't even know that I was looking for anything but whatever it was, I found it! I still miss the ducklings :)

We had a great time at Linda's place. The farm is situated in a beautiful position with an astonishingly scenic view on the fjord, gifting every day a different painting. The family is really nice and welcoming, we shared some great conversations and learned a lot about construction work, farming, food preservation, and in general about Norwegian culture. Linda is always open to listen to your needs, flexible when needed, and very careful that the work load is never too heavy, and most importantly she knows how to value of your work, which always boosts your morale. The type of work could vary depending on the necessities of the day and the period: there was weeding, herding the sheep, taking care of the adorable ducklings, painting, harvesting from the vegetable garden, and helping moving wood and other materials around the farm.
The people from the village are also very welcoming and kind, and the village itself offers many great opportunities to spend time outdoor, like kayaks, picnic tables, grill places, and so on, making it feel like an ideal place to live. Needless to say that it offers several opportunities for hikes, with amazing views in mountains and forests, and swimming, in the fjord and in mountain lakes. It was a really happy and serene time. Thank you for everything!

I spent 7 amazing weeks with the whole family, they are so kind ! It's like a second family just for few weeks, they take care of us, provide us all we need and share good times with us.
Their is a lot to do at the farm and it was a pleasure for me to help them, I was always learning something ! The place is beautifull, the view is breathtaking, the villagers are nice people to, and Froya make you feel happier day after day.
Hole the family can also give you some advice to discover the land and even more day free to do it.
It's the perfect place to work, learn, chill out, and live !
Now I have my head full of memories and my heart full of love, don't hesitate, it's the place to be !

We spent the whole of June with Linda and François. It was our first WWOOFING experience and it won't be our last :). Linda and François are people with their hearts in their hands, with a lot of know-how and experience. Always attentive to our needs and willing to share.
We learned a lot from them about farm life and the art of pottery. The time went by very quickly and our paths will surely cross again one day.
Aside from work, we had plenty of free time for hiking and fishing. We were also able to visit the surrounding area and learn more about the local culture!
The scenery at the farm was breathtaking.
They're a great family, so don't hesitate!

I was 2 times at this wonderful farm with this heartwarming family and both stays were great!
Linda and François are very openhearted and caring! You can feel, that they want you to have a good time while you are working and in your freetime. They make sure, that you have enough time to relax, go hiking or swimming, especially when the weather is nice. At the same time, there is a lot of work and your help and bodypower is very welcome and useful.
Especially in spring while the lambing season. The 2 months in April and May were an intense and unforgetable time for me. I am so grateful, that i could take part in so many births!
Bottle feeding, bringing the lambs outside and later bringing them up to the mountains for the summer, firing the wood kiln… I had countless wonderful experiences at my stays. Alongside, there were work with planting, repotting, assistance in the ceramic workshop…
It is almost impossible to describe a day at the farm because every day is different (and even when you think you know, what you will do, be sure, something will happen to change the plans 🙃 So, you will never get bored and its a good place, if you are flexible or want to become more flexible 🙂
At my first stay in August/September, I picked berries, weeded, splitted wood, fed the chicken and lambs, cleaned the barn, and collected the sheep and brought them home from the mountains.
Tusen takk Linda and François for all the love, the caring, the fun time. I miss all of you. A lot.
