Dear Wwoofer We are a family of 6 people (5 children), we have two dogs, two cats and rabbits at the moment (but are planning to also have a few goats in the future) We have two small hobby-"farms". We live in Ulnes, Valdres, but we also have a small farm in Søndre Land (about 1 h 15 min drive) from where we live. We welcome you to participate in activities at both places together with us. In both places will be similar task: restauration of buildings, set up a vegetable garden, prepare the barn and outdoor area for having a few goats +++ , fruit and berry picking and conservation, firewood making etc. Visiting us requires that you like children:) Accomandation will be in our house , but there is also space for your own camper if you have one. We will spend time together in the afternoons/evenings and in the weekends, since I work full time during the weekdays. We live close to beautiful mountain and forest areas - which gives you a lot of possibilities for exploring in all seasons. We also have lakes and fjords for swimming in the summer. Looking forward to hear from you! Silje

Staying with Jan and Silje was a great experience and I learned a lot of cool and useful things. I stayed with them in the house for some time and up on Steinberg when we started working there with some more WWOOFers. Steinberg was a little cold in the autumn since it is still under construction but we had a good heater so sleeping well was not a problem at all. I did a lot of berry picking, building on the chicken and rabbit house, digging drainages and a lot more of different tasks around the house. It was very diverse and the working hours were good, 6 hours a day 5 days a week. Jan has a lot of knowledge about a lot of things and he was very eager to share everything he knew, which resulted in a lot of long and very interesting conversations. The children are lovely and so energetic, and although I couldn't really communicate with them since my German or Norwegian skills are very limited, it was great to spend time with them. I stayed for a little more than a month, I loved staying there so much that I came back to visit them for a few days and I got to see the beautiful surroundings there again covered in snow this time and I got to spend some more quality time with the family. I definitely recommend this place!

It was great to live and work with Jan and Silje and their lovely family. They have many projects and lots of work, but were very respectful of free time for the wwoofers, and we especially enjoyed the cute little house we had to ourselves on the top of the hill. We also very much appreciated the organic (and if possible local) food that they provided. Lots to be learned here and we can definitely recommend visiting this wwoof farm!!
