Coastal farm life at Leirvågan Gård
Trøndelag
Hi!
We are Guro (1983) and Petter (1980), living at Leirvågan Gård, a small coastal farm in Roan on the outer edge of the Fosenhalvøya.
What we do on the farm
🌱 We grow a large organic kitchen garden
🔨 We always have building projects going on around the farm
🌲 On the mountain above the farm we are building a small hunting & fishing cabin
We live here with our son Sebastian (2006), who works as a fisherman, while our daughter Silja (2009) studies in Trondheim.
We try to live as self-sufficient as possible by growing, fishing and hunting much of our own food.
We have ten hens, chickens and one rooster. Zelda and Kompis is our cats.
A stay at our farm will give you a opportunity to experience life by the Norwegian coast. You will learn about gardening, self-sufficiency and local food. You also get the possibility for fishing, hiking and nature experiences.
You are welcome to eat together with us, but you may also use the kitchen in your room to prepare your own meals. We have dinner together and appreciate help with preparing the food.
We have excellent fishing opportunities both at sea and in mountain lakes where we can catch trout. There are many beautiful hikes starting right from the farm.
Our family live nearby and the knowledge and caring between generations are important for us. We enjoy getting to know the people who stay with us and sharing meals, stories and daily life.
Our farm is located 10 km from the nearest foodstore and 60 km from the city center Åfjord, where you’ll find more shops and restaurants. The bus passes by twice a day, and it works well to take the bus into Åfjord for an afternoon trip. You leave the farm at 13:40 and return at 19:45. It is also possible to take the bus to Trondheim, which is 170 km away.
