Hello Wwoofers, my name is Sondre i'm 45 years old. Has traveled alot around the world before I ended up farming at the family farm in Norway. The farm is located on an Island in archipelago of Kragerø in Norway. A beautiful place close to wildlife, but in the summer this is a vacation area for mainly Norwegians. Tourism is also my main income, through selling products from the farm and renting out cabins. The farm has sheep, goats and 1 lama named Troll, that has become the mascot at the farm. We make products from different fruits and berries, like jams and juice. In the summer we also have a brick own bakery, that is popular with the tourists. What I need help to is daily managing the farm (look after the animals, picking fruits and making products), restore old buildings from the 1800s, building a new barn and do some forresting to rehabilitate the old fields. The farm is on a Island with no ferrie connection, but it's possible to take the ferry from the nabour island. That is just a small trip by boat or kayak. I will pick you up on the arrival. Food for all meals we will provide, dinner we will have together. I have a lot of hobbies, but I have done most snowboarding and surfing. On the farm my love for boats is probably the most used hobby these days. There are many possible activities in the area, like hiking, kayaking, boarding, surfing (not that consistent), sailing. I got kayaks and boats that you can use to get around. The farm has a sauna and a tennis court that you can use, when it's not rented out.

I had a wonderful two-week stay with Sondre and would definitely recommend the experience. Sondre creates a really great and relaxed atmosphere on the farm. He is very intelligent, open-minded, and has a lot of knowledge to share, so I learned a lot during my time there. The animals are also very friendly, and the island itself is absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of nature to explore and enjoy. One thing I would mention for future WWOOFers: I would recommend travelling with a friend or another WWOOFer rather than coming alone, or at least asking beforehand whether there will be other WWOOFers staying at the farm at the same time. Since the farm is located on an island and Sondre has a full-time job, it can happen that you are completely on your own for periods of time, with only the family around. For some people this might be exactly what they are looking for, but it is definitely worth knowing beforehand. Overall, it was a really unique experience that I think everyone should have at least once. The island, the animals, the relaxed atmosphere and the freedom make it a memorable stay. Also: You will have a lot of boat Trips and you maybe can ride the Quad once or twice. 😁
